Delightful Apps is a one-person studio in Melbourne, Australia, founded in 2017 by Amy Delves. It builds native apps for Apple platforms — iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro — and takes on freelance consulting for Apple platform work.

Who runs it
I'm Amy Delves, a senior iOS engineer, and Delightful Apps is mine. It has been going since 2017, and the shape of it has stayed the same the whole time: build my own apps, and work with clients on theirs. Each side pays for the other — client work funds the products, and the products are where the ideas that end up useful to clients get tested first.
I've been working on apps for Apple's platforms since 2008 and made the switch from building ruby apps in 2014. I've worked for a range of companies including big corporates, consultancies and start ups. When I started Delightful Apps, it was a desire to make my dreams come true and build the apps that change people's lives. This portfolio has grown over the years from a single cycling app to a range of health apps and developer tools.

Two threads, both native: tools for the people who ship software, and apps built around health and cycling data — which is to say apps I wanted on my own phone. Every one has a free tier.

Consulting
Alongside the products, I take on contract and freelance work, and I have capacity right now. That means building an iOS, macOS, watchOS or visionOS app from scratch, picking up one that already exists, or joining an existing team as an experienced pair of hands on Apple platforms.
How I work
Native, on every platform an app ships to — not a web view in a wrapper. Processing stays on device wherever the platform allows it: Health Kitty answers questions about your health data using Apple Intelligence locally, and neither Ride Journal nor Ride Stats collects any data at all, which is what their App Store privacy labels say. And every app has a free tier, because you should be able to find out whether something is any good before paying for it.
