Indie Dev Journal - week ending August 23rd 2026

It's the end of the week, so lets take a look back at everything that is going on. This week was a bit more fun. It involved doing a release for Ride Journal that has some amazing new features. I've also started on the next updates to Health Kitty. The week ahead will be a big one as well with /dev/world on Thursday and Friday. I'm talking there about the work I'm doing with PreviewSmith. It's all about MCP and how to get an app to chat with Xcode.

Ride Journal

It was fun working on the release that went out this week. Being able to see the climbs that you've ridden is also a great way of reliving the ride. There were some technical challenges in this as well in order to get the app behaving nicely and showing the rides in a responsive way.

Grab the release from the App Store. Reviews, ratings and feedback are always much appreciated.

Health Kitty

Lots of work going on here to get the app behaving in a way that makes it a delight to use daily. I've been making updates around the chat behaviour so that it is more responsive. When the app encounters an error, it just works as expected. There are so many UI tweeks done as well meaning that it will all look beautiful.

There's a big update coming for this one, I'm wanting to introduce a way for the user to get an insight into everything going on with their health.

Contract work

Lots more chats this week trying to lock down something solid. In the mean time, I have other new app ideas I'm wanting to build out. So keep reading these updates to see what's been happening and what's coming up.

If you want to work with me or have me build out ann app, please get in touch.
